Who is Swire Shipping and what is its relationship with Westwood? Westwood was acquired by an affiliate of Swire Shipping in June 2022.

Will the Westwood brand remain? Yes. The Westwood brand will continue to represent reliability, personal service, and versatility. The Westwood logo will remain unchanged.
What is the impact on Westwood’s services or sailing schedule? Westwood’s sailing schedules, services, and routes will remain intact and unchanged as a result of acquisition or contract transfers.
Who will be my point of contact? Your existing Westwood relationship partner will continue to be your point of contact.
What is taking place and why?

Customers: The post-acquisition integration plan includes the transfer of existing customer contracts from Westwood to Swire Shipping. The transfer allows for a holistic approach to contract management and consistency amongst Swire Shipping’s family of companies.

Suppliers: Contracts and terms will not be affected by the acquisition.

What is the impact to current contracts? The terms and conditions of existing contracts will not be altered as a result of acquisition or contract transfers.
When is the transfer effective? How will invoicing be affected?

Customer contract transfer will be effective on or around 25 February 2023. Voyages commencing prior to this date will remain with Westwood and those commencing thereafter will be with Swire Shipping. After this date, the contractual counterparty on customer contracts will be Swire Shipping.

Bills of lading for voyages commencing prior to the effective date shall be issued by Westwood. Bills of lading for voyages commencing on or after the effective date shall be issued by Westwood on behalf of Swire Shipping.

Will bank account payment details change? Remittance bank account remain unchanged as a result of contract transfers. Customers receiving notification of a change to the remittance bank account should contact Westwood's accounts receivable team directly at arrequests@wsl.com. The Westwood Form W-9 remains valid for informational tax reporting.
What are the updated reference numbers? SCAC: update from WWSU to SSBF
CBSA Carrier Code: update from 9375 to 9311
If my goods are damaged during a shipment, to whom should I issue the claim? In the unlikely event that goods are damaged or lost during transit, a claim may be filed in the usual manner against the carrier under the bill of lading.
