Customer Advisory

Vancouver, BC Service Disruption

Dear Valued Customer,
February 28, 2014

This is to advise you about the current disruptions to container dray operations in Vancouver, British Columbia. The United Truckers Association (UTA) of BC has served notice to Port Metro Vancouver (PMV) and staged protests that began Feb 26th. The key complaint centers around long wait times at Ocean terminals.

Westwood utilizes several local dray companies to move our containers, and these companies confirm that activities by the UTA have negatively impacted gate activity at the Vancouver Ocean Terminals (Vanterm, DP World, Fraser Surrey Docks, and Deltaport). Due to personal safety concerns for the drivers, owner operators have effectively stopped entering and exiting these terminals.

The PMV and BC Government agencies are on heightened alert and we will keep in touch with these groups for further developments and impacts.

Westwood will update our customers as the situation changes.

Thank you for your support and for your patience as this issue is resolved.
